Immunizations
Immunization clinics give BYU employees and their spouses  (and in some cases their family) to get vaccinated against disease.

  • Flu Vaccinations (Free w/ approved insurance)
    The flu vaccine is available to BYU faculty and staff and their families each year in September. These shots are free for full-time employees and families who are covered by DMBA or Altius. (There is a minimal cost for non-insured employees and their families.)
     
  • Adult Immunization (Cost may be involved – Usually free with approved insurance)
    By partnering with the Utah County Health Department we are able to offer all recommended adult vaccinations including: Shingles (offered for ages 50+); Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap); Pneumococcal; Hepatitis A; Hepatitis B; Meningococcal; Human Papillomavirus; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); and Varicella. These are free for most employees and spouses with DMBA insurance. These are available twice during the year. Usually in March and July.


Screenings
Screenings are an opportunity for BYU employees and their spouses to obtain important feedback on their health. 

  • Blood Glucose, Cholesterol, Triglyceride Screen, & BP (Free w/ approved insurance)
    This blood lipid screen provides important bio-medical information regarding risk for cardiovascular diseases. You may register for a screening here
     
  • Health and Fitness Assessments (Cost Involved)
    A variety of health and fitness assessments are available to you at minimal cost.  Assessments include:
    Bod Pod (for % body fat),
    Nutritional Analysis (for dietary intake)
    Submaximal Treadmill Test (for fitness)
    Push-up and Leg Press (for strength)
    DXA Scan (for bone density)

  • Mammograms (Cost Involved)
    Each year in March employees or spouses covered by DMBA can participate in a mammogram at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.  The cost of the screening depends on your individual insurance coverage. To participate, look for the registration on the front page of the Wellness Website starting the middle of February.
     
  • Posture and Functional Fitness Screen (Free)
    This screening is offered every even numbered year in June.  To participate, look for the registration on the front page of the Wellness Website starting the middle of May.
     
  • Glaucoma, and visual acuity (Free)
    This screening is offered every odd numbered year in January.  To participate, look for the registration on the front page of the Wellness Website starting the middle of December prior to the event.
